Blackra!n Rocks (With a Few Exceptions)

Uncategorized

I’ve been jailbr eaking my iPhones off and on for a few months now.  Until Blackra1n was released, most of the tethering functions were a little geeky, and quite frankly, unreliable.

Not so with Blackra!n.  The tethering works great, and it even seems like it came with the phone.  Check out these screen shots:

After installing BlackRa1n, the setup is integrated into the iPhones Setup under General.  Simply to to Network settings, then select Internet Tethering.  Turn it off or on here.

I like USB, but it works fine with Bluetooth.  After turning it on and your computer is connected to the iPhone, it clearly shows that the phone is tethered:

Cool, huh?

I had some problems:  sometimes WiFi would not work, sometimes 3G would not work.  After some diligent Googling, I ran across a Profile file that I downloaded from peacefullnsanity.com, but now that website is down.  Al the other fixes mentioned on blogs either did not work, or only worked halfway.
